SUW 42′
Sport Utility Walkaround
The design of this 12.80 × 4.00-metre yacht—13.60 metres including the swim platform—is based on a modular approach conceived to optimise the production process.
A shared platform, comprising the hull, main deck, deckhouse, cabin layout, engine room and propulsion system, can be combined with four different superstructures. Developed as Open, Sport, Fisherman and Flybridge models, these configurations create four clearly differentiated yachts, each with its own character and purpose, covering the principal types available within this size category.
This strategy would offer several advantages. Reducing the number of moulds required would significantly lower production costs. Clients could select the preferred superstructure until the final assembly stage, shortening delivery times, while the shipyard could avoid production imbalances caused by uncertain forecasts of demand for individual models.
The modular system would also allow one version to be converted into another several years after the initial sale. Although technically complex, this possibility would provide a significant advantage on the pre-owned market and extend the yacht’s adaptability over time.
Two interior layouts are proposed: a six-berth version with two separate double cabins and a convertible dinette, and a four-berth configuration with a separate crew cabin.
